Please read and accept these terms and conditions before taking part in our Dogs Deserve Christmas competition.
1.1 Dogs Deserve Christmas is a social media competition giving dog parents the chance to make their dog's Christmas wish come true. Qualifying Butternut Box deliveries include a Letter to Santa insert, where you write your dog's name and their Christmas Woof List wish: what they would do if they were in charge for the day at Christmas.
1.2 To enter, you must post your photo or video onto your profile (stories not included) on your desired platform, tagging @butternutbox (or the Butternut Box account relevant to your country of residence) and using #DogsDeservesChristmas, for the chance to have your dog's wish granted.
1.3 By entering the competition, an entrant is indicating their agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
2.1 We will select winner(s) to win the prize of having their dog's Christmas wish come true, as written on their Letter to Santa entry.
2.2 The winner(s) will be selected on 23rd December 2026 from all valid entries posted between 20th October 2026 and 23rd December 2026 inclusive.
2.3 Wishes will be fulfilled at a time agreed with the winner(s).
3.1 The Dogs Deserve Christmas competition runs from 20th October 2026, when the Letter to Santa inserts launch, and will continue while stocks last. We will post on [the competition landing page / our social channels] when the competition is closing, with the final date. Entries must be posted by 23:59 GMT on that date.
3.2 To enter, you must: (a) fill in the Letter to Santa insert with your dog's name and their Christmas Woof List wish; (b) post a photo of your completed letter on your preferred social media from a public account; and (c) tag @butternutbox (or the Butternut Box account relevant to your country of residence) and include #DogsDeservesChristmas in the post.
3.3 The Letter to Santa insert is provided in all Butternut Box deliveries that qualify for the free festive meal. Entries must be made using the official insert. Each entrant may submit one entry, and multiple posts of the same or different letters will count as a single entry.
3.4 We will only accept one wish per Butternut customer. The way we will verify this may include by social media handle, email address, residential address, human name, dog name and/or payment details.
3.5 The competition and prizes on offer are only available to residents aged over 18 in the UK, Ireland, Poland, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands.
3.6 There is no entry fee to enter this competition. As the insert is only included in Butternut Box deliveries that qualify for the free festive meal, you must have received a qualifying box to enter. If selected, you must confirm the email address linked to your Butternut account so we can verify your entry. If we cannot match your entry to a Butternut account, your entry will not be considered.
3.7 The winners will be selected via a draw, and will then be subject to internal criteria set by the Butternut Box team (as to whether the wish is possible logistically or financially, including the availability of any third party needed to deliver it).
3.8 Butternut Box will not discriminate against any entrant on the basis of age, breed, sex, race, colour, national origin, religion, sexual orientation or gender identity.
3.9 This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Instagram, Meta, TikTok or any other social media platform. By entering, you release these platforms from any liability relating to the competition.
4.1 The Dogs Deserve Christmas competition is not open to employees of Butternut Box.
4.2 If you win, we will contact you by direct message from our official Butternut Box social accounts on the platform you entered on. You will have 72 hours after we message you to respond accepting the prize. Failure to respond will result in your prize being forfeited and another entrant selected.
4.3 We will never ask winner(s) for payment or bank details to claim a prize. Please ignore any message claiming to be from us that does not come from our official account.
4.4 Any entry that was made on behalf of an unknowing individual (i.e. someone who was not aware of being entered) will be automatically disqualified from the competition if their entry is selected as a winner.
4.5 Winner(s) must be the person redeeming the prize.
5.1 By submitting an entry, you assign to Dogmates Ltd, worldwide and in perpetuity, all rights, title and interest (including copyright) in your entry content. Entry content means any post, photo, video, caption or other material that features the Dogs Deserve Christmas Letter to Santa insert, or that you submit as an entry to this competition.
5.2 To the extent any rights in your entry content cannot be assigned, you grant Dogmates Ltd and its affiliates a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable and sub-licensable licence to use, reproduce, edit, adapt, publish and share that content in any media, including marketing and advertising materials and channels, without further notice, approval or payment.
5.3 You waive any moral rights in your entry content, and agree that we may use it with or without crediting you or your social media handle.
5.4 By entering, you confirm that your entry content is your own, does not infringe anyone else's rights, and that you have permission from anyone who appears in it.
5.5 We will be filming the winner's wish coming true. By entering you consent to you and your dog being filmed. All rights in this footage, and in any imagery of the winner(s) captured by or for Butternut Box, belong to Dogmates Ltd and may be used in marketing or advertising material for Butternut Box in perpetuity.
5.6 By agreeing to these terms and conditions, you agree to let us share your and your dog's face with the world.
6.1 Personal data supplied during the course of the competition (including your social media handle) will be used by Butternut Box for the administration of the competition and may be passed on to third party suppliers, partners or brands only insofar as required for fulfilment/delivery/arrangement of the prize. Personal data will be used for no other purpose unless we have your consent.
6.2 All personal data will be processed in accordance with our privacy policy found at https://butternutbox.live/privacy-policy.
7.1 Dogs Deserve Christmas prizes are awarded to the winner(s) of the Dogs Deserve Christmas competition and are not transferable or exchangeable and no cash prize is available.
7.2 In the event of unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right, but are not obliged, to substitute any element of a prize for an alternative prize of equal or greater value.
7.3 We accept no responsibility for entries not successfully completed or received due to a technical fault of any kind, including any fault with a social media platform.
7.4 We reserve the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the prize to anyone we suspect is in breach of these rules.
7.5 Our decision regarding any aspect of the promotion is final and binding.
7.6 We reserve the right to cancel or terminate the competition at any time without prior notice.
7.7 We reserve the right to amend the competition or these terms and conditions without prior notice. Any changes to these terms and conditions will be effective immediately upon posting to this webpage. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible.
7.8 Butternut Box, its associated companies, its agents and distributors, and any other brands, partners or suppliers involved in the competition or in delivering a prize, will not be responsible or liable to compensate the winner(s) or accept any liability for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), damage or expense occurring as a result of taking up the prize (whether or not arising from any person's negligence) except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law. Your statutory rights are not affected.
7.9 Some wishes may be fulfilled with the involvement of third party brands, partners or suppliers. Butternut Box is not responsible for the products, services, acts or omissions of any third party brand, and any goods or services they provide are subject to their own terms. The involvement of a third party brand does not mean it sponsors, endorses or administers this competition.
7.10 We will not be liable for any content using the hashtag #DogsDeservesChristmas (except where we have originally posted such content).
7.11 The competition will be governed by English law and entrants to the competition submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
7.12 This competition is run by Dogmates Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 9328607 with its registered office at 9th Floor, 107 Cheapside, London, EC2V 6DN.
7.13 All rights in the Butternut Box brand and the Dogs Deserve Christmas campaign shall at all times remain the exclusive property of Dogmates Ltd and/or its affiliate entities.
